Cell Phone Repair Basics Everyone Should Know

Cell phones have become an integral part of our lives – so much so that when they break, we feel a loss of connection to the world and who we are. As great as cell phones are, they are not built to last decades, and many cell phones that are damaged are done so purely by accident. Some problems you cannot fix yourself no matter how hard you try. This includes water damage, a cracked screen, or a broken charging port. The good news is that the most common problems you are likely to face on any given day can be easily fixed from the comfort of your couch. These few basics will have you looking like a professional in no time.

Slow Processing Power and Speed

There is any number of reasons why your phone may suddenly stop working. If you notice that it takes longer to open apps or unlock, the first thing you need to check is your storage. Too many pictures and videos will slow your phone down, so clear up as much space as possible. Apps also take up a lot of space, so delete any that you haven’t used in the last six months.

Next, check your RAM information. Some phones can be upgraded with more RAM which means you can store more items locally on your phone with less lag. If you cannot upgrade the RAM, upload all of your documents to the cloud and then wipe your cell phone’s memory.

Cell Phone Regularly Crashes

With enough wear and tear, a cell phone will start to crash often. If your phone is relatively new or you take excellent care of it but apps and the screen continue to restart or switch off, your cell phone may be infected. Viruses and bugs are common these days because they are very easy to use by hackers.

If you suspect that this is the case then search your cell phone’s app store for cell phone repair software that will help you clear any malware and viruses. Anytime you have a virus, it needs to be removed immediately, otherwise, your device will remain at risk from potential hackers.

The Battery Doesn’t Last

Cell phones should last anywhere from 24 to 36 hours when they are fresh out of the box. Over time you can expect your battery to take much longer to charge, and to diminish much quicker. There are a few reasons for this. Either too many apps are running in the background all the time, such as GPS, Bluetooth, and Google services, or the screen is always turned on to the maximum level of brightness.

The solution is to first set your phone to battery-saving mode, and then manually change the settings to the apps that are staying open in the background. If you have done all of this and the battery still doesn’t improve, you may need a new one.

Any damage to your cell phone is annoying and it makes everyday activities much harder to perform. If you practice and learn these basics, you won’t have to worry about paying someone else to fix your cell phone anytime it slows down or stops working.
